Seven Days A Week – Jane H. Young
Not sure when or why the habit became popular to be Christians one day a week (or maybe two if there’s a mid-week meeting at your church). What if God decided to only be available for us on Sunday and Wednesday? Think about it, the rest of the week you’d be on your own.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NASB.
God didn’t say come to me on Wednesday or Sunday only. He simply said “Come To Me.” No time restriction, He’s available for us all the time. He shows up seven days week, morning, noon and night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Can God have that same assurance in you? If there is a need in someone’s life and God calls on you to help them, will you be available? Surely you wouldn’t say “I only do God stuff on Sunday and Wednesday and this is Thursday can’t it wait until Sunday? My schedule is full right now.”
Our lives are a reflection of who we really are. We can speak things all day, but when we act it shows the real person. Our words should match our actions.
The heart-breaking problem with our country is what we’re hearing and receiving as truth, and allowing ourselves to be the devils most valuable weapon. Our urgent desire needs to be, to pick up our Bibles seven days a week and learn, receive and to practice the truths of God, like loving our neighbor in a tangible way.
“The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9 NASB
Prayer: Lord I want to be a reflection of you when people look at me. Help me Father to get my priorities in order according to your word. Help me to be part of your plan to make this world a better place to live in until you come again.
