Love What God Has Made - Jane H. Young
If you question God’s love for you, I pray your heart and eyes will be open to how much He truly loves you—right now this very minute.
1. He sends you sunshine every morning.
2. He sends you flowers every spring.
3. If you ever want to talk—He’s always there to listen.
4. God can live anywhere in the universe but He chose you, your heart.
5. He didn’t promise days without sorrow or pain—but He did promise strength for the day, and comfort for the tears.
Sometimes the problem of not accepting God’s love is because we can’t love ourselves. We can’t imagine how anyone could love us—not even God. The devil loves to get God’s children in this frame of mind because when you don’t recognize God in you enough to love yourself and what He’s made, you can’t share God’s love with anyone else.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” (John 13:34 NASB)
The only way to love others is to love yourself first. You can’t give to others what you don’t have. I realized early in my walk with God that He doesn’t make unlovable people. If He took the time to make me and love me, I had no right to not love myself as well. It doesn’t matter what others say or tell you about yourself. See yourself as loved by God who formed you in your mother’s womb—you who were worth sacrificing His Son for.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NASB)
Prayer: Lord open my heart to receive your love today; to realize that I am important to you no matter what. Help me see that—You truly do love me!
