Light of the World - CD Swanson

“And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…” John 1:5 (KJV)

There is so much darkness in the world today, which is clearly apparent as we partake in our daily lives, we can’t help but see, hear and witness atrocities, that can be jarring and quite disturbing. It can truly seem at times the depth of darkness is so prolific, that it can be suffocating to our very souls.

But darkness cannot exist, and does not thrive with the “Light of the world,” which extinguishes the shades of indisputable grays, and in its place, we welcome the brilliant Light of Christ, and comfortable warmth of His love.

Jesus’ Light prevails, and is within and without, we just need to focus on the intensity, and permeable aspects that come because of His mercy, and love, and all else will disperse.

Being a faithful follower isn’t necessarily an easy thing, it can be daunting at times when we come against “darkness” and the “spiritual warfare” we sustain in our lives. But, knowing Jesus give us the power under the authority of His name, we are able to withstand the fiery darts, and slings and arrows thrown in our paths. And the enemy will “flee” as we draw closer to the LORD. (James 4:7-8)

Those who rise up against us, shall not prosper (Isaiah 54:17) promises the LORD, and therefore, we are protected, which is the inheritance of His children. When we believe, follow and stand for Christ, and He is with us, who “can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Believe, trust and acknowledge Him, love Him with all your heart, and He will direct our paths! (Proverbs 3:5-8)

“Dear Father God, thank You for the Light of the world, Your Son Jesus Christ, may I do all to please You, today, tomorrow and always, I know that You will sustain me in all I do, and will never leave me, thank You LORD, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
