Justice and Recompense – Michael Edwards
Take heart, Jesus brings justice and recompense, proclaiming our Father's overwhelming love.
The Injustice: We inherited Adam's sin nature at birth.
For as through the one man's (Adam) disobedience the many were made sinners... Rom 5:19a NAS
Paul speaks of our imprisonment to this nature, suddenly realizing the truth.
But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin (noun) which dwells in me. Rom 7:20 NAS
In bondage, our freedom stolen, God's enemy death reigned as Satan wanted. …by the trespass of the one man (Adam), death reigned through that one man… Rom 5:17a
Only God who hates death and loves justice and righteousness could set us free and bring full restoration.
God's Justice: For if by the transgression of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Rom 5:17 NAS
For I the LORD love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Psalm 61:8 ESV
Jesus' justice freely restores our right standing with God.
Through the obedience of the One (Jesus) the many will be made righteous. Rom 5:19b NAS
Credited with God's very own righteousness upon belief, full justice and compensation for all things stolen is our destiny. We have been made co-heirs with Christ, partakers in God's age-old promise to Abraham. A new glorious body and a new heaven and earth, our guaranteed future. All things, as God desires them to be.
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matt 25:34
Dear Lord, help us to keep our focus on the truth of our glorious eternity, our eyes on you and our heart in heaven. Help us see beyond this temporal world and rest in your peace in the storm as we point others to a saving knowledge of Jesus. Amen
