Jesus Sees Your Heart – Lakella L. Davenport
“There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.” (Luke 7:41-43 KJV)
I am so glad we serve a God that sees beyond our faults. Jesus sees you for who you really are, not for what you have done in your past or what you may be doing now that may be contrary to his will. He knows your motives and intentions, especially if they are good. Jesus' love is unconditional and non-judgmental. Come to him as you are; broken and weeping. A heart full of remorse over sin is a heart ready for Christ to come into, to heal and forgive.
I am reminded of the story of the woman with the alabaster box of oil. This story is a perfect example of Christ's unconditional love. In Luke 7:37-50 KJV, Jesus sat at a meal with a Pharisee, when a woman entered who was known throughout the city as a sinner. She broke open an alabaster box of oil and anointed Jesus’ head with the ointment. In doing so, she was showing her great love for Christ. She had good intentions. “And she stood at his feet behind him weeping and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head and kissed his feet, and anointed him with the ointment,” (Luke 7:38 KJV). And when the Pharisee saw Jesus' response to the woman; he was bothered by it. He felt she was not worthy to even touch Jesus because of her wrongs. The Pharisee could only see her bad reputation. He couldn’t see her broken heart. Jesus saw her repenting and sorrowful spirit. We must strive to be like Jesus and see others the way he sees them.
