Jesus Is Knocking — Jane H. Young
Are you answering the door and saying “nobody is home” when Jesus knocks? Wouldn’t you consider it rude if you were to visit a friend and they wouldn’t answer the door when you knocked — even though you knew they are home? Well, Jesus knows you are home, so when Jesus puts His finger on something in your life that needs His help and He knocks on that part of your heart you should be glad to open it.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me,” (Revelation 3:20 NASB).
The Lord is knocking—let Him in. Choose to let Jesus in every area of your heart. Why wouldn’t we immediately open the door when Jesus knocks? Are we afraid of what He may want us to change? Or, maybe we are ashamed—because we already know exactly why He is knocking. After all, it is not His first time knocking at our door.
If Jesus visits you for any reason, run and fling your heart’s door open and welcome Him with open arms. It is for your well-being, not His that He is knocking. He knows there’s an internal battle happening in your heart, mind, and soul. He has chosen to come and help you. Let Jesus begin to show you how His plan for you is far better than what you have been living. Jesus Is knocking!! Answer the door and give Him all of you.
Prayer: God, open my eyes to the places in my heart, mind, and soul where I am fooling myself, making believe everything is fine. Lord, I ask that you knock loudly, that you give me the faith to know it is you, and the strength to open the door and let you in.
