“When you call Me, when you go to pray to Me, I will listen to you. When you look for Me, you will find Me. Yes, when you seek Me with all your heart you will find Me with you, and I will change your lot…” Jeremiah 29:12-14 NAB
It’s clear. When you seek God, He will be found by you and will be with you. His promise is that He will change your lot. Destiny, portion, and fate are a few synonyms of lot; it’s also defined as one’s way of life or worldly fate. When you discover the Lord, He promises change. Lot can also refer to property or location. God will change your spiritual location—from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. In doing so, He will continually change your lot—your destiny, portion, and fate.
However, a change in spiritual location is not accomplished in passivity, in spiritual malaise. You must call. You are to pray. You will need to actively look and seek—live out all the action steps noted in Jeremiah. God responds to your yearning, your call, your cry. He promises “I will listen to you.” Only you can solidify the deal. You act. God signs the deal. What’s in it for me, you ask? When you and the Lord close on this heavenly real estate deal, you will gain entry into the Kingdom of Light. It’s now your lot.
You now can also claim what is promised in Jeremiah 29: 11: “For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe, plans to give you a future full of hope.” You can count on God to change your lot and give you hope. Amen.
