“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name he may give it you,” John 15:16 KJV.

God chose us because he loves us. Jesus loves us so much that He gave his life so that we may live eternally. “He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him,” John 14:21 KJV.

 
As God's chosen people, we belong to God. “But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine,” Isaiah 43:1 KJV. “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee,” Isaiah 43:2 KJV. God's words are truth. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walked through the fire, they were not burned, like God said in His Word.

God was there for them because he had chosen them (Daniel 3). “Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honorable, and I have loved thee,” Isaiah 43:4 KJV.

God chose us from the beginning to carry out his will. We are chosen to spread the good news of our Savior, Jesus Christ. As God's chosen people we are to: “Let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven,” (c.f. Matthew 5:16 KJV).
