A Pack-Full Of Hope - by Buife Nomeh
"Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords
[of control] from us." (Psalm 2:3, Amp)
Hope is a dangerous thing to have, but not having it is a death wish. The online, Wikipedia, defines hope as "An optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large." In a world full of people who are constantly seeking ways to break free from God and to defy Him in every possible way, it seems the only time we can be allowed to live our lives in peace is when we finally throw in the towel and turn our backs on God. I mean, can any good really come out of the world we're living in today with the way it's been run?
But, just before you throw in that towel and give up, I invite you to laugh with the King of Heavens who laughs because He has anointed (installed and placed) His King [FIRMLY] in His holy hill of Zion
(Psalm 2:6) and of the increase of His government...there shall be no end (Isaiah 9:7). He laughs because He knows the end from the beginning, and He knows how rich His glorious inheritance is in His saints (Ephesians 1:18). He laughs because He looks forward to the time He shall come with His new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Do you see how hopeful our God is? Like the virtuous woman, He is rejoicing over the future (Proverbs 31:25).
Now, you know why you cannot give up. Our trust in God is a blessed assurance. Though the kings of the earth and its rulers gather to plot against Him and His Kingdom, He remains, and will forever be, in control. Yes, hope might be a dangerous thing, but when He whom our hope is anchored on is true, unchanging, and faithful, and we are blessed.
"Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him." (Psalm 2:12b NIV)
