The Whole Story - by Keith Henry
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with Him in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1-5 NIV)
While on my Facebook page, I wondered how many Christians treat the Bible the same way they do their Facebook pages? They “like” some of the posts, “comment” on others, but most items they just skim right over and pay little or no attention to.
I often pray that Christians would be in the Word as much as they are on Facebook, but that is another topic. The Bible is filled with little tidbits and words of wisdom that we “like” or “comment” on and unfortunately we skim over the rest, but we shouldn’t because the Bible tells a whole story. It is an incredible story about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how He has worked from the very “beginning” to bring us salvation because He loves us so much. Like a post on Facebook can only give us a glimpse of who our “friends” are, a “like” here and a “comment” there from the Word can only give us a glimpse of who Jesus really is. We need the whole story. He is the living Word and the only way to truly know Him, to become alive in Him, is to be in the Word from beginning to the end. “Like” if you read the Word daily.
