In Christ "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit," (Romans 8:1 KJV). Have you surrendered your heart to Christ, yet still struggle with assurance of salvation? Your only defense is to flee at once to God's word, taking up the shield of faith and the Sword of the Spirit, and not debating or arguing with the devil. Keep your eyes on Jesus and His promises. Don't think of your struggle as doubting your salvation. Think of it as doubting God's salvation. Then you will have God's honor to fight for! That should make you angry with sin. The Bible says Christ was made sin for us who knew no sin "that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him," (II Corinthians 5:21 KJV). You can be sure you cannot lose what Jesus holds possession of. God's salvation has been bought and paid for by the blood of Christ. He has owned your sin and taken your punishment so you might possess His righteousness. What a Savior! Exercise the same faith Christ owns on your behalf. Imagine Jesus wondering whether or not you are really in Him when the word of God declares you are! Of course He would never doubt. Well then, how does it make Him feel if you keep asking him into your heart when He is already there? Rejoice that you are in Christ and He is in you. You know your being in Christ was never about your own ability to save yourself or keep yourself in Him. Your being in Christ is about living and growing in God's grace from start to finish, and believing you are eternally kept by the power of God. Praise the Lord!
