First Be Hopeful by Karen Pourbabaee “Faith is the realization of what is hoped for and evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NAB Golden daffodils first peek through winter’s white blanket, then multicolored tulips tantalize with the first colors of the changing season. Snippets of green begin to sprout from earth’s barren floor. God is speaking through His creation…spring is at hand. Faith is arising from the depths of hope and painting its picture. The vision of spring is created in the hopes of winter. No matter where you are in life right now, hope can propel you forward. Where does hope come from? How can we find hope to go on? Not on our own. The answer is found in Psalm 62:5, “My soul waits in silence for God only. My hope is from Him.” We must come before the Lord and wait until hope wells up within our soul. We must first hope, then faith steps in. Hope is the activator of our faith; they work together. Faith paints the picture of our hope for our spiritual eyes to see so we may run the race with endurance. Faith is the creation of our hope. It is the realization of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. So begin with hope and see your faith rise. Be curious! Find out where your hope will lead you and you will find the evidence of things not seen. As an early church Father, Clement of Rome, once said, “If you do not hope you will not find out what is beyond your hopes.” God is speaking…spring is on the way.
