Don't Cast Away Your Confidence by Toni Babcock "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward," (Hebrews 10:35 KJV). As believers in Jesus, we must be mindful of where our greatest spiritual weakness lies or risk falling into various pitfalls and temptations. What is your greatest weakness? Oddly for some, our greatest weakness is to magnify our sins and shortcomings to the point of diminishing God and His righteousness, and forgetting to acknowledge the Lord and His promises in our lives. When we come to our spiritual senses and return to God's word believing - our faith is restored, and we step out of self-condemnation victorious in Jesus. Jesus gave an interesting warning to his disciples. He said "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you," (Matthew 7:6 KJV). The implication is; the dogs will not devour until they are given, and the swine will not trample until they are thrown the bait, neither will they turn to attack until the deed is done. The message to self-loathers: Don't throw Jesus under the bus along with you. We are entrusted with the gospel. As Christians we are surrounded by forces that seek to devour, trample and engage us in deadly attack. Defend your most holy faith and testimony for Jesus. Recognize your foes and your weaknesses; hold onto God's promise, and find victory in Him. Toni lives in Minnesota. Read her book The Stone Writer for FREE in exchange for a review. Contact
