Listening to God – by Emilou Ilagan
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him" Ephesians 1:17 ESV
GOD speaks in many ways. He communicates with us through His written Word, creation, His prophets, and His Son, Jesus Christ. This Word has been confirmed by the apostles, supernatural experiences, angelic visitations, dreams, visions, events, circumstances, and His still, small voice (1 Kings 19:12). There was even a time that God opened the mouth of a donkey to talk to a wicked prophet (Numbers 22:28).
It is GOD’s desire to communicate with us and we need pay to attention. There are times when we become so preoccupied with our daily activities and responsibilities that we neglect communing and enjoying fellowship with Him. "And, that should not be.
As you wake up in the morning, before doing anything else, make it a point to spend time to praise His wonderful works, to thank Him for all the blessings, to worship Him in the beauty of His holiness, to soak in His presence, to pray, to meditate on His Word, and most importantly, to listen for and to His voice.
It can be hard to hear God’s voice when we are exhausted or busy so let you’re mind and heart be at rest. You can rest because the things you worry about are in His hands. Draw joy from God, and the same will give you strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Listen to Him.
