I Can Do All Things Through Christ – by Emma Forbes
"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." – Philippians 4:13 [ESV]
It’s really easy to get discouraged. I get discouraged when a project I thought would be easy turns out to be hard. Sometimes I quit because I don’t think I can do it. After all, I’m only human right? There’s times when I wonder, “How will I ever get this done?”
Sometimes I wonder how I completed that huge list of chores. If I sleep in, and half the day is gone, it’s a little overwhelming to see all the chores I need to do. Other times, I get nervous about doing something different and meeting new people. During the school year, it’s trying to get all my assignments done on time.
Yet, through it all, I know that in Philippians it says, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. All things. Isn’t that wonderful? With the strength that Christ gives me, I can tackle that huge chore list and get things done. I can participate in new activities and meet new people because I know that Christ is giving me strength. I can complete that hard project with His help!
When anything comes my way, any of the trials that life brings, I know that I can get through it because I can do all things through Christ. He’ll give me the strength I'll need.
