Love the Lord With All Thy Heart – by Lynn Gipson And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. (Mark 12:30--KJV) Do you think God loves us some of the time, most of the time, or only when he thinks about it? Does He love us only in times of crisis, as it seems that is when we choose to draw closer to Him? This is something I had to think about when I first became His born again child. When a crisis comes in our lives, we hit our knees and praise God and ask for a miracle. We promise to be better people and love Him more if only He will take us through this storm. God certainly loves us then, and always carries us when we our helpless and cannot bear the burden. Then as, soon as the storms blows past, I tend to get a little complacent. Of course, I love the Lord, but do I love Him with all my heart and soul and mind and strength? I like to think I do, but of course life gets in the way sometimes, and I can honestly say I forget to love and trust Him in the manner I should. God loves us with all His heart, soul, and mind, all of the time. And I should love Him no less, and trust Him no less, and worship Him all of the time! “Lord, forgive me for not loving and worshiping You as much as I should. Remind me daily how much grace and forgiveness You have showered me with, and that you want no less than all my heart, soul, mind and strength. Amen.” Lynn is freelance Christian writer and a very active member of FaithWriters. Contact
