In the Potter’s Hands – by Cynthia Peoples “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.” Jeremiah 18:6 (NLT) It is so awesome how an artist can take some clay….mold it and make it….and turn it into something beautiful! Well God can do the same thing with us when we allow HIM to do so. The secret is to get out of God’s way and let HIM have HIS way with our lives each and every day. But in reality this can sometimes be a struggle simply because we are living in a world that is only our temporary home and we are in a constant battle between the flesh and the spirit. We have to persevere and continually feed our spirit so our potter (God) can take the clay (us) and mold and make us into what HE wants us to be. Once we accept Christ as our own personal Savior HE fills us with HIS Holy Spirit who then gives us everything we need to enable us to live our daily lives as God intended from the day we were born! Example: Take a Styrofoam cup. When it’s empty, it’s light weight and can be tossed about, knocked over, and easily destroyed. But when you fill it up….. it’s sturdier and stronger and becomes useful. Well we are the same way. When we let God fill us up we become useful to HIM. And each day is a brand new day with Christ and HE is our potter and we are HIS clay!
