You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Many have New Year’s resolutions fail in few weeks into the year. Why? They start with so much enthusiasm and right attitude but lose the strength to carry on when the storms of life come hitting in. When you start right, thus with God, you end right, for your inner strength is greater than that of the world and Christ in you, the hope of glory.

When the people of Israel gathered to build the walls to restore the ruins of Jerusalem, the first thing that the leaders, did when they saw the pile of rubble where the Temple once stood was to rebuild the altar (Ezra 3:2), we learn that they had done this prior to the returned remnant gathered in Jerusalem. So when the people got to the devastated city, rising out of the rubble they saw a restored altar. Even though the foundation of the temple had not been laid, the sight of that altar filled them with hope! 

There are times in all of our lives when we need a new beginning with God. A disappointment or trial may have caused you to drift from the close fellowship with God. You need a new beginning. Repent and seek to establish the presence of God in the midst of your mess and He will restore and bless you unto His glory.
