Glorious Earth by Sharon Dow “Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:3 NIV Earth is the crown jewel of our Solar System. According to NASA, Earth is the perfect place to live. We are the only planet not named for a Greek or Roman god. The name, Earth, comes from an English/German word that means the ground. Such an exception must have been orchestrated by our God who has said, “You shall have no other gods before me.” Even the seraphs mentioned here in Isaiah 6 know and exclaim, “the whole earth if full of his glory.” We know the Earth of our day is filled with many difficulties and concerns, mostly man-generated. The original creation was perfect until sin entered, but the remnants of the original glory are evident in every glance we take. The countryside is filled with an incredible array of trees, plants, animals, insects, and birds. Their diversity is mind-boggling. From the tiny ant to the massive oak tree, every detail is intricate and beautiful. The sky above is filled with wonders: sun, moon, stars, planets, asteroids, comets. God has given us everything we need to live in this wonderful creation. NASA also says, “All the things we need to survive exist under a thin layer of atmosphere that separates us from the cold, airless void of space.” This, my friends, is no accident. It is the plan of our Great Creator, who has purposed in his heart to create man in his own image and place him in this incredible environment. Earth with all its troubles, still reflects the glory of the God who created it. Sharon Dow is a Christian author of three Christian Historical Fiction you can find HERE.
