Second Most Sacred By Anna Darlene Edmondson “Behold, I have imprinted you on each of My hands.” (Isaiah 49:16 Amp)
When I consider God, our awesome creator, I’m reminded of just how much He adores you and me. Unbelievable! He’s a tripartite being which means---Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Likewise, we’re formed in three parts---body, soul, and spirit. On top of that, from Him came everything, and everything that is, has been or ever shall be (Colossians 1:17). According to Andrew Wilson, author of GOD*STORIES, we’re the second-most sacred of all that lives. “So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27 Amp) Moreover, Wilson states we have value not just for what we do but who we are as particular persons. Once we embrace the magnificence of ourselves, we look to Him for affirmation and away from our imperfections.
Let’s remember we’re not accidents nor numbers but individuals unlike anyone else. Additionally, every person is a rare entity. God loves us the way we are, and He alone understands the tiny details of why we are that way. Perhaps a more intense relationship with the Lord will begin when we realize He loves us personally, individually, and unconditionally, not universally. He’s a warm intimate Father who wants a personal relationship and that’s why He fearfully and wonderfully made us (Psalm 139:13). Here’s the thing: we’re priceless and loved beyond our comprehension. I know it’s hard to believe and even more awkward to accept. Still, that’s exactly what God declares and proved when He sent His Son to die in our place. May we grasp this impossible truth and hang on for dear life. Darlene is a freelance Christian writer. Contact
