After School – by Ken Ebright
"Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success." (Proverbs 3:6 NCV)
When I was young, I learned a bad habit. If I had to stay after school due to my learning disabilities, I needed to find my own way home. I would finagle a ride when my parents weren't available. As a result, I became self-dependent instead of being God-dependent.
As an adult, I had to complete a big task. Feeling overwhelmed, I spoke to a Christian friend. I'll never forget when Dee said, "Why don't you ask the Lord for help?" Her advice changed my life forever.
That was a revelation to me. As a child, no one ever had told me that I could ask the Lord for help. As humans, we have this idea that we can do everything on our own. I’ve realized there are things that I need assistance with. I had to learn how to ask God for help.
When we call upon the Lord, he will help us get through even the smallest of tasks. No problem is too big or too small for the Lord.
