Cleaning Windows – Linda Simpson It was some time since our windows had been cleaned but because the spring morning sunshine emphasized smears, fingerprints and dust, I decided it was time to tackle the momentous window washing job. I started with the kitchen window and sliding door which gives us a lovely view of our back garden. As I scrubbed off insect marks and dirty streaks, then used the squeegee, the amount of dirt and dust amazed me. The build up over time had been so gradual it wasn't really noticed. Now, looking out, everything was so much brighter and clearer.
During a welcome break, I felt prompted to look at Matthew 6:22-23a. Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. These words challenged me. What do I put before my eyes? Are they clouded with residue from unsuitable programmes on TV? What do I read? Is it worthy of God's approval? Would I watch that DVD if Jesus was sitting next to me? The next question - How can I be sure my eyes are clean lamps only allowing good light into and out of my body? An answer is in Philippians.
Fix your thoughts (eyes) on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about (look at) things that are excellent and worthy of praise.* Philippians 4:8b NLT
Let us all remember to check our eyes from time to time to make sure they are allowing good light into and out of our body so that we can shine and bring glory to Our Lord.

Radical New Covenant Bible Studies for Radical Freedom in Christ
Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
