Waiting on God Means Trusting in God Cheryl Weber Many of us know what it is like to have a “full plate” in life. I am balancing various writing projects, trying to perfect my website, job hunting, praying about my return to full-time mission work and dealing with my elderly mother and the possibility she might have dementia. The other morning it occurred to me that maybe, things would be much easier if I just turned it all over to God and waited for him to work things out.
That’s true for all of us. This does not mean we just sit back and watch TV and eat chocolate—as much as some of us would like to do that. We continue to pray and do our part as God shows us. But when we try so hard to figure it all out and make things happen, we end up burned out: exhausted physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We can also get in the way of what God wants to do and actually hinder the solution to our dilemma.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (NLT)
Some translations use the word, “wait” instead of “trust.” To me, this means we are not to run ahead of God, but wait for him to do his part. And if you’ve ever watched eagles fly, they don’t constantly flap their wings trying to stay aloft. Instead, they find the air currents and ride them. In the same way, we can find the currents of the Holy Spirit, relax and just ride. Our peace and joy return as we find the strength to do our part and enjoy our lives. PRAYER: Thank you Lord that you love us and care about every detail of our lives and are working on our behalf. AMEN

Radical New Covenant Bible Studies for Radical Freedom in Christ
Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
