People of The Way - Karen Pourbabaee

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 NAB

Based upon the well-known statement of Jesus in John 14:6, around the time of the First Council of Nicea in 325AD, the early Christian movement was referred to as The Way. The term Christian was first used at Antioch. (Acts 11:26) As Christians, or people of The Way, our primary roles are pilgrim and disciple. A pilgrim is described as a wanderer, a person who travels to a holy place. As pilgrims, we spend our lives going someplace. People of faith travel toward God Himself. Where are you heading? God has a plan for you, a personalized route.

God’s will for us is The Way, being both pilgrim and disciple, that we may not merely wander as a pilgrim, but become a “follower of the Anointed” as a disciple. The Greek term for Christian translates “like the Anointed” or “follower of the Anointed.” With Jesus, we are given a distinct route through this foreign land to which we have been sent. He says to each of us, “…come, follow Me,” in Mathew 19:21. And as we follow Him, we shall become “like the Anointed.” That is The Way… how we get through this life on Earth. In John 14:5, the apostle Thomas asks Jesus, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” To which He replied, I am the Way; you can reach the Father only through Me.

If you’ve longed to discover God, you are not alone. And you are not without a guide. Jesus is the Way. Come, follow Him.

Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross.

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Recent Amazon Review:

"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17
