The Watchful Witness – Toni Babcock “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” – Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:10-12 KJV)
If I’m going to be persecuted for Jesus’ sake, I want it to be for all the right reasons. I don’t want to turn somebody away from Jesus for all the wrong reasons. ‘Oh,’ someone might argue – ‘better to preach the gospel and offend someone than not preach the gospel.’ I get that. I don’t argue, if I am willing to witness for Christ in the square of public opinion, somebody is going to be offended – it’s a given. I understand we are to preach the word “in season, out of season” no matter the cost. What I refer to is offending a potential believer in Jesus by being self-righteous, condescending, or an intolerant know-it-all. It’s odious when this type of boorishness shuts the door to someone else’s faith by being obnoxious – blaming the sinner for “rejecting Christ.” But in such a scenario, who is the sinner really rejecting?
It’s tempting to say whatever we want; however we want, but Jesus said, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation, the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41 KJV).
May we be careful and prayerful about what we say and how we say it before stepping out in faith to be a witness for Christ.

Radical New Covenant Bible Studies for Radical Freedom in Christ
Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
