Hungering and Thirsting for God Susan Barnes
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 5:6If we have been a Christian for some years, we can take our relationship with God for granted and become casual about our spirituality. However, blessing comes to those who spiritually hunger and thirst for more of God. For those who seek him with a passion that is akin to their desire for food and water. God says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). Hungering and thirsting is an ongoing attitude that says, "I am determined to do whatever it takes to fulfill all of God’s purposes for me." Paul had this attitude and wrote in Philippians 3:12, "But I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me." Paul was committed to achieving God’s plans. Later Paul was able to say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). In Genesis 32:26 we read that Jacob wrestled all night with God and then said, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." Are we that desperate for God's blessing in our lives? From that time on Jacob walked with a limp, which was a constant reminder that God had touched his life. During the Olympics, commentators would talk about a competitor being 'hungry for gold.' If an athlete can be so focused and committed to something that is temporal, how much more should we be hungering and thirsting so God can fulfill his purposes for our life. Susan, an Australian pastor's wife, regularly writes devotional thoughts on Bible passages, book reviews and inspirational articles. Contact |

Radical New Covenant Bible Studies for Radical Freedom in Christ
Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
