Jesus Entrusted Himself to No Man Michael Edwards
He knew what was in man.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing. But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man. John 2:23 – 25 ESV What was in man? A fallen nature. A sin nature inherited from Adam due to the fall.
For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, Rom 5:19 ESV
Because of this, Jesus would not entrust himself to any person, not even His disciples.
We are not to believe in, place our faith and trust in mankind. We are to believe in the Lord instead.
It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. Psalm 118:8 ESV
So, why have you been trusting your own abilities in this world instead of the Lord? You are a person, a part of mankind, right? Maybe this is why you struggle.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8 ESV
Why not make a fresh commitment today to trust your Heavenly Father’s wisdom and guidance above your own? It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.
