Faith the Fear: Your Identity Dana Williamson I thought I knew whom I was when I left corporate America in 2013. I felt positive about my life and what God wanted from me. However, a year later, I realized my calling came with many challenges I now understand were designed to equip me for all God had prepared. Finding my identity in Christ in the Word and lessons learned, I continue to grow to this day.
God has called you too, for such a time as this, and gives you the opportunity to learn who you are in Christ and why this day has come. Your identity is revealed in the Word. Your personal understanding of that identity is revealed in your response when God calls. Do you walk from faith to faith or run away in fear?
Consider Jonah who ran away from the assignment God had given him. He knew he couldn’t run from GOD, but left anyway. By leaving and boarding the boat, he put all in jeopardy. If our answer is fear based and only about us, we will put ourselves and others in jeopardy.
The sure way to exchange fear with faith is to be firmly established in our righteousness in Christ and the great love and plans our Father has for us.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)
