Room for Grace? – Harriett Ford God dropped a phrase in my mind. Faith TAKES what Grace provides (Mark 4: 34).
I followed the thought:
Faith SAYS what God says (2 Chron. 18: 13; Prov. 18: 21 and Mark 11: 23-24).
Faith comes by HEARING God's word. (Rom. 10: 17).
Faith is a supernatural GIFT at times (I Cor. 12: 9).
Faith PLEASES God (Heb. 11: 6).
Faith works by LOVE (Gal. 5: 6 and 1 Cor. 13: 4-8).
Faith leads to WORKS following salvation (Eph. 2: 10 and James 2: 14-26).
Faith can wither or GROW stronger (2 Thess. 1: 3; 1 Tim. 1: 19 and Heb. 5: 12-13).
Faith can MOVE mountains (Matt. 17: 20).
It is often said that faith moves God. Bible Teacher Don Allen asks, "When did He stop moving?" What if the real issue is making room, by faith, to stop God from passing by? In Second Kings, fourth chapter, a woman asked her husband to add a "small room" to the house for the prophet who often passed by. Then Elisha stopped and stayed there at times. The woman didn’t know she would ever experience a miracle in her life. But the room had been prepared. Perhaps the very room where her son, the answer to her prayer, was raised to life.
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, there was no room at the inn. But Mary, Martha, and Lazarus welcomed Him to their house at Bethany. They always made room for Jesus. Mary and Martha also got back their brother Lazarus from the dead. Father, the room in my heart is not big enough to contain Your goodness and mercy. By faith, I am asking You to enlarge it to take what Grace provides.
