Be the Mountain – Toni Babcock "They that trust in the LORD shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever." (Psalm 125:1 KJV)
When I was a child we sometimes played a game called "King of the Mountain." All that was needed was a small hill or mound of dirt to climb on. Whoever climbed to the top of the hill first and managed to fend off the opposition became the "king" until he or she was pulled down by another child to rejoin the rest of the rabble at the bottom. If you've ever played King of the Mountain, wasn't it delightful to see the king get yanked off the top of the hill, unless of course, the king was you!
Wanting to be first in life and stay on top is human nature. Jesus taught another way. When Jesus washed the disciple's feet before going to the cross, He left them an example of being a servant. He taught his disciples not to lord it over one another, and not to always strive to come out on top. I think what he was saying was "be the mountain."
"Be the mountain" Christians don't point to themselves, they point to God. They don't need to elevate their status because they already know who they are. They gladly lift others up even when it means stepping down. They are not threatened by their opponents. They are confident in Christ, and cannot be moved. In other words, to "be the mountain" is to trust in the LORD, and make a way for people to rise up and follow Jesus.

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
