The Treasures of Godly Wisdom Karen Pourbabaee “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:3 NAB
Wisdom is a treasured commodity, for by it we may navigate a joyous and successful life. We are promised wisdom if we genuinely ask for it from God according to His Word in James 1:5: “But if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly and He will be given it.” Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. So get knowledge by all means, but pray and seek for wisdom.
The book of Proverbs is our richest source of wisdom teachings, Reading just the first four chapters, we learn some of the treasures of God’s wisdom:
*Training in wise conduct; what is right, just, and honest *Guidance and counsel
*A shield to those who walk honestly *Protects the way of the pious
*Brings long life, riches, and honor *Pleasant ways and peaceful paths
*Life to our soul *Sweet sleep *Health to our whole being
Would you like to see these qualities manifest in your life? Then look for wisdom in the Word, God’s instruction manual. Asking sincerely, He will lead you to what’s needed for the moment. Additionally, wisdom is the personification of the eternal Word of God: Jesus. So if you are looking for wisdom, look to Jesus: “…Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3) The life He lived and the words he spoke display the wisdom of God. Happy is the man who finds wisdom, for he has found great treasure.
