Seasons of Remembrance Robert Schaetzle And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things. 2 Peter 1:15 NIV
I can attest to the truth that young children are very perceptive. Our 17 month old granddaughter’s increased vocabulary has revealed to us just how well she does understand us in her formative years.
Our middle son and his wife have blessed us with two grandsons, one at 20 months and the other three years old. When they come to visit grandma and grandpa, we have our usual routines and activities. They too are so observant and quick to establish themselves, desiring to do what they see us do.
Our young grandchildren’s ability to understand and mimic our words and actions are far beyond our expectations. Our faith and actions are lived out through their young hearts way beyond what we thought they could comprehend.
My wife and I use this knowledge to our benefit, teaching and reflecting confidence into our grandchildren, by living our lives through the power and presence of Jesus in us. When they see us walking in faith and not fear, emulating a Spirit controlled temperament, their faith begins to grow.
Just like our two adult grandchildren before them, our youngest ones will have their seasons of remembrance to hang onto.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalm 56:3 NIV
