Nathaniel questioned Jesus when he first met Him. How did Jesus know all about him? They had never met. Yet that makes no difference to God. The Heavenly Father knows all about us, long before we first spoke to Him and long before we had even heard of Him. From birth, no, from conception in our mother's womb He knew all about us (Psalm 139:13). He is familiar with all our ways (Psalm 139:3). In fact, there is no thought we have ever had in our entire lives that God does not know of! (Jeremiah 1:4-5).
He knows the number of hairs on our head (Matthew 10: 30), the number of our days (Psalm 139: 16), the exact time of our birth and where we would live (Acts 17:26), and in fact, knows us better than we know ourselves (Romans 8:27). He is the discerner of every person's heart (Psalm 139:2).
There is no where we can go from God's presence; there is no hiding from Him (Psalm 139:7).
As Jesus called the first disciples to follow Him, so He invites us again today to abandon our own plans for living and live our life in obedience to Him. What are we keeping from Him? What masks are we trying to hide behind? We cannot deceive God. On this new day we can come clean and surrender every part of ourselves to the One who made us, knows us, loves us and will never disown us.
