Have you ever questioned the security of your salvation? It can be unsettling. Maybe you've prayed the prayer of salvation for the "umpteenth" time (in case it didn't "take" all the other times). Doubts and questions usually surface when we're burdened with the enormity of our sin. How is it that God, perfect and holy, could love us so much that He died in our place to pay for our sins?
We don't receive a certified document from Jesus when we accept Him as our Savior and Lord. We take it by faith. Our salvation is not based on OUR goodness - it's based on HIS. It is provided because of His goodness, His grace, His mercy, and His love. There is nothing we can do to save ourselves. For this reason, we can relax and trust His provision. "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." (1 John 5:13 / NIV)
Thank you, Lord, that we can trust You with our eternal salvation which You've graciously provided through Your death, burial, and resurrection.
