Look Through the Eyes of God and Walk in the Spirit – Michael Edwards This hour has come.
“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 NAS God calls all believers to worship Him in Spirit and truth. To do this, we must walk by faith in the Spirit, in the truth of the New Creation God has already made us. We are no longer in the flesh, the old creation that has been crucified and has died. God tells us that we are right now a New Righteous Creation in Christ. The old creation, our flesh, has passed away on the cross with Christ – Gal 2:20. This is how God sees it. This is the truth for eternity. We are called to walk by faith in what God says is true but still unseen to us, not by sight in the flesh.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away(died); behold, the new has come. 2 Cor 5:17 (emphasis mine) Walking by faith in the Spirit is how a believer has victory in this life, slams the door shut on the enemy’s attacks and overcomes sin, the lusts of the flesh.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Gal 5:16 NAS
Walking in and by the Spirit, believing what God tells us Jesus has accomplished for us, is how we can worship God in Spirit and truth. By agreeing with what God says is true but we cannot yet see, we acknowledge the great work of Jesus for us. When we walk by faith in the Spirit, in His completed work, we honor Jesus.
