Thought for today - 1 Peter 5:7 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. NKJVWorrying and fretting are burdens we are not meant to carry. There is someone who cares about you and your troubles. He is God. Many times in the Bible, God tells us of His love for us and how He cares for the humble and contrite. He is always available to hear our concerns. He is not far off and very near to the humble. Over and over, King David encourages us to fret not, to commit our ways to the Lord, trusting in Him. When we cast all our care on God, we are demonstrating our trust in Him. We are telling Him that He knows more than we know. We are acknowledging His love, a love that wants only the best for us. Peter gives us a key to receiving the care of God. Before he encourages us to cast our care on God, he tells us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, submitting and trusting Him completely.
