Casting All Your Care on Him Sheriena McEvers
Thought for today - Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NKJV
Worrying and fretting are burdens we are not meant to carry. There is someone who cares about you and cares about your troubles. He is God. Many times in the Bible He tells us of His love for us and how He cares for the humble and contrite.
He is always available to hear your concerns. He is not far off, but near to the humble. Over and over King David encourages us to fret not, commit your way to the Lord, trust in the Lord, fret not, etc.
When we cast all our care on God, we are demonstrating our trust in Him. We are telling Him that He knows more than we know and loves us with a love that wants only the best for us.
Peter gives us a key to receiving the care of God. Before he encourages us to cast our care on God, he tells us to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. Submit to Him, then trust Him completely.
Heavenly Father, help us to not hesitate in coming to You with our cares. May we trust You with our lives and the lives of those we love.
