Revelations of Jesus - Karen Pourbabaee “…set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Pater 1:13 NAB
Jesus was first mysteriously revealed amidst the Judean hills, in Elizabeth’s home, where He was recognized with joy by His cousin, John the Baptist. He was revealed to shepherds and kings, as well as the animals and angels attending His birth. Back in Nazareth, sightings of the young lad, Jesus, were perhaps commonplace, as He tagged along with His father, Joseph. In the temple, His revelation was met with awe. In His ministry came His true revelation, the living icon of His Father. Our Father, too. Though He was in heaven, God was revealed in Jesus.
Throughout His life, wherever Jesus was found, grace did abound. “The child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom, and the favor {grace} of God was upon Him.” (Luke 2:40). Likewise, today, wherever Jesus is, grace is. Wherever you are, in whatever situation or trial, this grace can be brought to you when you set your hope completely on it. “For the grace of God has appeared, saving all.” (Titus 2:11) Jesus is the grace of God. Set your hope on Him, as the Israelites once did. The Messiah was revealed in God’s planned time.
Look for Jesus to be revealed as you actively hope, too. He will be revealed in the pages of His living Word. In those silent words, yet also in the spoken words of a friend. In the stranger whose aid is timely. In the phone call that makes your day. Surely in the hugs of loved ones. In the silence of a sanctuary. In praise-filled songs. He appears on time, and every time brings to you grace.
