With Him - Karen Pourbabaee “For we are God’s co-workers…” (1 Corinthians 3:9) NAB
It is a most intimate connection. When we are born again, our new life exists in Him. We live and move because of Him. We are always with Him. His presence surrounds us. When we step out into God’s world, we must invite Him along. We are to work with Him, not for Him. God’s people throughout the Old and New Testaments exhibited this co-working with God. “But they went and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the Word through accompanying signs.” (Mark 16:20) When we work with Him, God promises:
Presence: “…for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Guidance: His hand will lead us and guide us. “It is the Lord who marches before you; He will be with you and will never fail you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
Strength: When we work with Him, we don’t work in our own strength. “God is our refuge and strength…” Psalm 46:1
Grace: He provides divine favor to accomplish His will. “Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
In Him, we have life. With Him, we accomplish His work. He resurrects us to work with Him in His kingdom. As we journey with Him, He reveals our assignments. He lets us know who He created us to be and why. That why is why we need Him. Why we need His presence, guidance, strength, and grace. With Him, we can do all things. With Him, we become ourselves as we journey and accomplish His work.
