Kept by the Power of God – Toni Babcock Have you ever doubted your ability to keep yourself in the love of God; or feared you would ultimately come to ruin because of your sins?
While it is good to have a healthy fear of the LORD, the fear of failure is not good if it implies we hold the power to keep ourselves in the love of God. We keep the faith – but we do not hold the power. The power belongs to God. The Apostle Peter makes it abundantly clear when he wrote we are “kept by the power of God through faith”. (1 Peter 1:3-5 KJV).
God doesn’t want you living on a treadmill of religious duties, for fear you might lose your salvation if you don’t keep trying to please Him in your own power. That is not salvation “by grace through faith” as the Bible teaches. That doesn’t mean there will be no rules or laws to keep in our lives – it means rules and laws are not the things that keep us. God keeps us and makes us willing to do His will. He writes his law upon our heart so that we want to obey Him. Then we are at liberty to serve Him freely.
Salvation is not working hard at behaving ourselves, or else God is not going to love us anymore. It is living and having our being in Jesus Christ, as we develop an abiding trust in the love and mercy of God. It is coming to understand that it is Christ who works in us, to “make us perfect in every good work to do his will”. (Hebrews 13:21)

Radical New Covenant Bible Studies for Radical Freedom in Christ
Jesus poured out His blood for the New Covenant of grace and truth, replacing the Old Covenant letter of the law of Moses. Believers are exclusively under the New Covenant, the last will and testament of Jesus that began after the cross. And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. Luke 22:20

Perfect to equip the believer for defending their faith. Ideal to send to a skeptical friend or family member. Great for teens and young adults who have never reviewed the objective evidence for God's existence and identity.
An in-depth study of the factual evidence leads a person to realize how little faith they need to believe, while they gain great faith at the same time.
Running close to 5 stars with over 180 online reviews.
Recent Amazon Review:
"For anyone on the fence, backsliding, or doubtful this book clarifies misunderstandings, perceived contradictions, and outright lies. I was led to read this book at a time when I thought I was over Jesus; but truth defeats lies every time and never forsakes the believer." 2-18-17 |
