Trust - Sheriena McEvers
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3 NKJVTrust - assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone or something
Trust is so essential in a relationship with God.
• Do we trust Him?
• What do we know of His character?
• How do we know that we can trust Him?
If we question or doubt His character in the least, we will be disturbed, uneasy.
It is very important that we get to know God. How?
We can read His word and learn what it has to say about His character.
• What is He like?
• What did He say about Himself?
• What did others say about Him?
• What are some of His promises?
“Let the peace of God rule in your hearts.” (Colossian 3:15 NKJV) Let His peace dominate your mind.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6 NKJV) Pray for everything, then let God do it His way and let His peace guard your mind.
If we are to stay above the waters of doubt that seek to drown us, like Peter, let’s keep our eyes on Jesus. The more we get to know Him, the more our trust in Him will grow so that one day it will dawn on us that we are at peace in the middle of turmoil. We will realize that we can, indeed, trust Him!
Lord God, may our faith please You.
