The Autograph Collector - Jonathan Rayne Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (KJV) My friend is an avid autograph collector. His collection includes athletes, actors and actresses, politicians, comedians and many others. Recently, he spoke of his latest successes. After congratulating him, I asked how incredible it would be in Heaven if he could obtain the autographs of people such as Adam and Eve, Noah, Moses, John the Baptist, the Good Thief and the Apostles.
For most of us, autographs are limited to our checkbooks. We will never experience the thrill of signing a baseball for a star-struck child or autographing a picture for an adoring fan.
I know another autograph collector. His name is Jesus Christ. His love for every human being is such that He desires their autographs in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Whatever one’s circumstance, Jesus is asking for your autograph. We need only accept Him and seek the Father’s forgiveness and He will open His book.
We may never hit home runs, win Oscars or Grammys or throw touchdown passes in the Super Bowl but, because of Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross, we can add our autograph to the greatest collection of them all. If you haven’t done so, study the Bible and ask the Son for His pen. He awaits your autograph.
Now, about those autographs in Heaven … And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev 21:27 (KJV)
