In Need of Strength – Katy Foster “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NKJV).
I once believed that I could do whatever I wanted, be whomever I wanted to be, and have whatever I wanted because I would have Christ’s strength to break down any barrier. However, because of time-restraints, situations, and shortcomings, I haven’t done everything I wanted to do. Many times, I felt like I couldn’t do anything, much less all things. I wondered often in my weakness, “Where’s Your strength?” In my discouragement, confusion, and weakness, God reminds me, “Surrender…” and He gives us an unmatched blessing – strength from our risen Savior Jesus Christ. In our weakness, this verse comes alive.
We have hope in our weakness from the strength of Jesus. We overcome our selfishness through Christ who strengthens us. We strengthen our relationship with God through Christ who strengthens us. We strengthen our marriage and our family through Christ who strengthens us. We praise God through disappointing times through Christ who strengthens us. We conquer through struggles, depression, and trials; and we can be joyful in the middle of the storm. We can wait, through Christ who strengthens us.
We can be in need and suffer, or abound; be hungry or be full, and still be thankful and praise God. We can do all these things through our loving Jesus who strengthens us.
Thank You, dear Father, for Your words, guiding our lives and showing Your love. We delight in glorifying You, surrendering to you, and thanking You for the strength of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; in Jesus name, Amen.
