Do you know that as a born-again child of God you bear the presence of God? As His child, you have His presence, His Holy Spirit, living in you. His life is flowing through you, an earthen vessel infused with God’s Spirit and power.
As we behold the glory of the Lord, study His word, and work together with the Holy Spirit, He renews and transforms our mind, conforming us to the image of His Son. As multifaceted beings, there are abundant opportunities for our vinedresser to prune and conform us to His image. Over time, as we cooperate, His presence will infuse all areas of our life.
However, if we insist on our way in an area of life, we only impede our own growth and continue to bear a selfish presence. Since Satan is the source of all selfishness, that part of our life may end up reflecting his image more than Jesus. Something no Christian desires to do.
In this chaotic world, it can be easy to forget whose we are, and for whom we live. It takes a daily decision on our part to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him. Upon awakening, let's make that choice and allow God’s presence to flow through all areas of our life.
Kind Father, help us to give you free reign in our lives as you conform us to the image of your Son.
