I Am Content with My Weaknesses Michael Edwards
… God is love…1 John 4:16 ESV
You may have read 1 Cor 13:4-8 where Love is replaced with God? It describes our Heavenly Father. God is patient, God is kind. God does not envy, God does not boast, God is not proud. God does not dishonor others, God is not self-seeking, God is not easily angered, God keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. God never fails. 1 Cor 13:4-8a But have you ever added your name with the proper corrections?
Michael is not always patient, Michael is not always kind. Michael does envy sometimes, Michael does boast once in awhile, Michael is proud at times. Michael does dishonor others at times, Michael is often self-seeking, Michael is easily angered at times, Michael sometimes remembers the wrongs of others. Michael does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Michael does not always protect, trust, hope or persevere. Michael does fail. 1 Cor 13:4-8a
The truth can hurt.
Paul initially beat himself up over the weaknesses of his flesh Rom 8:3 talks about.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 2 Cor 12:8 ESV
But Paul learned that God’s power is made perfect in being content with his weaknesses.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor 12:9-10 ESV
