A Rich Life - Karen Pourbabaee
“…for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call upon Him.” Romans 10:12 NAS
A rich life is not one in possession of the riches of this world, but one that abounds with the riches of Christ; it’s the abundant life promised by the Father in John 10:10: “I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” He sent His only Son, Jesus, to secure that abundant life for all. By definition, abundant life is bountiful, well-supplied, and rich. Let’s seek that rich life.
Abundant derives from Latin abundare, meaning to overflow. We have a God overflowing with the riches needed to both attain and sustain the abundant life promised, riches he longs to freely give us:
Abundant Lovingkindness: “For Thou, Lord, art good and ready to forgive. And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon Thee.” Psalm 86:5 A call is required.
Abundant Mercy: “Let the wicked return to the Lord, that He may have mercy on them, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:7 We must return.
Abundant Grace: “…much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 Be open to His grace.
Abundant Hope: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 Belief brings hope.
These are the abundant riches of our God; He waits for us to call, return, receive, and believe, that He might bless us with a rich life in Christ.
