The Courageous Quarterback – Ken Ebright “So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20 NCV)
Tom sacrificed his life to save others. I didn’t know Tom personally. When I was in ninth grade, he was the quarterback for our high school football team. Later, he used his leadership skills to save many lives. He sacrificed his life on September 11, 2001, when he kept a plane from destroying the United States Capitol. I didn’t know if Tom was a Christian; if he didn’t know Jesus, sadly, I may not see him in heaven.
Two thousand years ago, a man named Jesus sacrificed His life to save people from their sins. Jesus surrendered himself so that we can have eternal life. As Christians, are we willing to get out of our comfort zone and share the Gospel with unbelievers? The sad part is many members of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ are not willing to make a small sacrifice to win the lost.
How about handing a tract to someone when you are at the gas station or the shopping mall? I hand out one tract a day on my commute to work, and I let the words on the tract do the speaking for me. Which is worse, being rejected by the world or having Jesus say He never knew you? The Bible commands believers to share the Gospel with others. Jesus laid down his life for us. We should be willing to do the same for him. Ken is a native Minnesotan and loves to sing and can play a keyboard instrument. Contact |
