Troubled and Afraid of Donald Trump’s Election? - Michael Edwards
To all Christians who are troubled or afraid of Donald Trump’s election. I ask you to remember the following.
God chose Abraham. He slept with the house keeper and later told her and the child they had to leave. He gave his wife over to Pharaoh and then again to Ambimelech to protect his own life.
God chose Moses. Moses was a murderer.
God chose King David. He was a womanizer with a large haram at his disposal and still took another man’s wife and had him killed. David broke all the Ten Commandments.
God chose Paul. When Paul showed up in front of the other Apostles, do you think they were troubled and afraid? All they knew was that he had been persecuting, imprisoning and killing Christians just for their faith in Christ.
When chosen, the Apostles could easily be considered racist and homophobic by today’s standards. They called the Gentile’s dogs, despising them and never associating with them. They completely rejected homosexuals.
Could God choose Donald Trump? You tell me.
Lord help us to realize we cannot afford to let our hearts be troubled or afraid. Help us to trust you in all circumstances so we can walk in your peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27 ESV
The author is not insinuating nor does he personally believe that Donald Trump is a racist or homophobic. I believe that is a caricature the liberal media has created of Trump.
