He Keeps Us! - Karen Pourbabaee

It seemed like a usual peaceful morning as my husband drove away to do an errand. A habitual prayer of blessing for my family, paraphrased from Numbers 6,had escaped from my lips that morning, perhaps lingering in the air: May the Lord bless us and keep us and cause His face to shine upon us from this day forth and forevermore. Amen.
A phone call came way too soon…"I've been in a very bad accident and waiting for the police to arrive." Though the car was a total loss, there was not one cut or bruise on my husband, nor the elderly truck driver that collided with him. Once home, I listened to all the dramatic details of theaccident. The most important words came from the truck driver, who straggled out of his truck, embraced my husband, and said, "The Lord kept us!"
That word keep! It rolled off my tongue like every morning, but today it had been a proclamation of faith. God was letting me know He had heard my prayer, not just that morning, but every time I pray. Indeed, God watches over His Word to perform it, as declared in Jeremiah 1:12. He watched over the words of my prayer, and when the moment was right, His watch ended. It was time for action. The script had been read. God performed it.
He keeps us! Each and every one of His beloved children. Declare it every morning so He may watch over His Word for you and your loved ones.
