What Self-Examination Will Reveal - Robert Schaetzle Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! 2 Corinthians 13:5 ESV
I love to be outdoors to listen to the sounds of 'God's Nature' and' Natures God.' When I hear the melody of birds singing in my yard, it brings me gratitude for the joy of His presence, I feel. "Father, you did this for my pleasure, thank You!"
Our peace or lack of stability in this world reflects our faith and trust in our Lord. How we react and what we are about each day, shows us our desire for God's preeminence in our life.
Our Lord wants us to always rest in His presence and peace led by the Spirit. If we find ourselves in fear, worry, frustration, and hopelessness, we know we are walking by sight in this world and not by faith in His promises.
The key to passing or failing the faith test is quite simple. I fail when I take my eyes off Jesus, looking around at all of the turmoil and confusion in this world that intimidates me. I pass when my eyes are fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. When I find myself risen above all this world's circumstances in His peace and power, I know for sure I have passed, and my Father is pleased.
The value of testing is to know where my faith is focused each day. We honor God best and benefit ourselves most, when our faith is not in anything of this world but fixed on Him alone. We worship Him to the highest degree, experiencing the most peace and freedom, when we live like the new creations in Christ we have become.
Father, help us examine our faith walk to discern your will in this ever-changing world of false information. Let Your Spirit lead and determine the way of faith in the midst of this fallen world.
